Gbani N. Colliee is the Compliance Officer of Sawabenu. She directs the implementation of setting up and monitoring strong internal systems to prevent, detect, and address compliance risks to ensure Sawabenu complies with relevant laws, regulations, policies, ethics, and values to hold the organization accountable and build a trusted reputation with partners and donors. She has over 15 years of progressive experience in the humanitarian and development field working with government, stakeholders, the public, and local and international NGOs to promote good governance, transparency, and accountability. She’s a multifunctional skilled competent member of the team. She has extensive knowledge of programming, donor funding, and reporting requirements and the ability to provide substantial compliance, programmatic, monitoring, and evaluation including other administrative, and logistical expertise to support program delivery.
Gbani is a candidate for a master’s in public Sector Administration, with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Liberia, and an associate degree in Bookkeeping including completing several other certificate courses relating to, project management, organizational governance, communicating impact, financial management, capacity building, and experience in project/program management and implementation.
Previously, she worked for the Carter Center Rule of Law Program and grew in her role as a Program Officer to provide support to field-based operations in Liberia to enhance accountability, transparency, and access to justice and information for nearly 8 years. Her roles required partnering with the government of Liberia, civil society organizations, the media, and international and local NGOs including the public to strengthen the quality, accessibility, and administration of justice through instituting accountability systems, researching, policy dialogue and reforms, civic education, training, and mentoring, capacity building. supported the issuance of sub-grants to ensure grants were implemented consistent with donor requirements including compliance with internal and external policies/ regulations.
Before joining TCC, she served as the Administrative Officer at the Sexual Gender-Based Violence Crimes Ministry of Justice between 2011-2013. She also worked as the executive Secretary for USADF/DEN_L project 2009 – 2011.
